============  BATTLEFIELD CHESS (ver 1.0) ============

This scenario comes in 2 sections. The 2-player scenario is a
base-pack of sorts for other scenario authors to use to make
single-player scenarios. It is also used in 2-player PBEM
games as the default game.

There is also a single player scenario which I have already
pre-made as an example for others. It is called 'Fortress
Koenigsberg'.

Because of this, you need to run the batch file called BFC.exe
before starting play to choose if you are playing a single or
two player game. In either case, after placing your units in
the first turn, you'll need to save the game, quit and run
the batchfile a second time.

Other than that, everything you need to know is in the scroll
box in the intro text.

Enjoy yourselves,
Kobayashi.

================================================

The rest of this stuff is only for designers who want to make
their own BFC scenarios. Do not read on unless you are planning
to do so.

After you are done with your modifications, you can call the
final product BFC - ABC, BFC - XYZ etc. Please make sure that
any changes you make will not interfere with the 2-player game
so that different versions of BFC can are still compatible for
multiplayer purposes.

Remember to ally the Red Army to all races except Blue or else
the Red AI will keep trying to attack the invisible cities.

To change the location names, set yourself as the Green, Black or
Yellow races and access the city screens by using the Attitude Advisor.

The main files you can change are:

1. BFCone.scn which contains the starting units and map. Changing
the map is straight forward. The typical thing to do is to load
BFCtwo.scn and then save it as your own BFCone.scn. Creating units
requires that you give certain techs, namely Forbid All, Forbid Both,
Forbid Red and Forbid Blue.

2. Eventsone.txt. Use this to explain your scenario and do not alter
BFC.txt which should remain generic.

Both these files will be copied to BFC.scn and Events.txt by the
Batchfile and will not interfere with the 2-player game. DO NOT
change any other files. Exceptions to this are:

the last 4 unit slots which are not used in the 2-player game. You
can use these to create additional units and blank templates are
available in the units.bmp.

Improvements can also be given by changing their prerequisite to
some late advance like Chemistry and then giving the advance to
the required tribe.

I may have left some of the things which can or cannot be changes
but in general just don't change anything which would affect the
2-player basic game.
